Danny Wood has been a strong advocate in the fight against breast cancer since 1999 when his mom, Betty Wood, lost her battle with the disease.
In September 2008 NKOTB announced that they would be joining forces with Susan G. Komen for the Cure® to help honor the memory of Betty Wood. To date, NKOTB and fans from all over the world have helped raise more than $300,000 for Komen, and there are several ways that you can join their efforts.
Danny Wood's new solo album, "Stronger: Remember Betty," is a tribute to his mother, Betty Wood. The album can be downloaded from iTunes, and proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. It is also available on CD.
NKOTB has released a limited edition breast cancer awareness tank top and shirt and a breast cancer awareness glitter shirt. Proceeds from the sales are going to Komen to support the continued fight against breast cancer.
If you would like to make a personal donation to Komen in Betty's memory, please visit Danny's personal fundraising page, http://www.info-komen.org/goto/Remember_Betty.
Several people have also shown their support by hosting fundraising events or creating a "Team Betty" and participating in a Komen for the Cure® event in their area. To find a Team Betty event near you, visit our Team Betty Events page.
